SOUTHERN ANIMAL FACILITY TEMPORARILY CLOSING
(Toms River) – The Southern Ocean County Animal Facility, located in Manahawkin, NJ, will
temporarily close its doors for essential renovations and repairs after business hours on November 3, 2024.
During this time, all shelter cats and dogs will be transferred to the Barnegat Animal Facility
at 20 Collinstown Road, Barnegat, NJ, where operations will continue until the renovation project is
complete.
The Barnegat Animal Facility will be open for adoptions, reclaims and surrenders starting November 4, 2024.
The facility will welcome the public daily (except holidays), from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The
renovation project at the Manahawkin facility is anticipated to conclude by March 1, 2025.
