NJ LEARNING MANAGEMENT NETWORK

The NJ Learning Management Network is designed to help you quickly access training and education curriculum, conferences, meetings, resources and information important to those professionals involved with public health, safety, healthcare and emergency preparedness.

Access to the NJLMN Web site is gained by visiting http://njlmn.rutgers.edu. Click here for the PDF file with directions on how to create an account and register for a course.

Users manage their own free accounts from the NJLMN Homepage. Each user must have a valid email account to register with the NJLMN. Registration takes only a few minutes.

NJLMN is comprised of three communities: Distance Learning, which includes satellite seminars; Bioterrorism Training and Emergency Preparedness (including the 40-hour certificate program), and Conferences, Meetings and Classroom Courses, which are state-wide offerings by various groups and agencies.

The Homepage displays a list of current courses in the Course Catalog, a Library of many resources, including useful links to other sites and suggested reading or handout materials associated with offered courses. There is a National Directory of more than 250 courses dealing with bioterrorism and emergency preparedness, and a Training Needs Assessment Survey. The Homepage also provides a variety of information on how to navigate the NJLMN and how to establish an account and review your record of training.

NJLMN stores registrations, transcripts, CEU tracking and license information, protected by password-secured accounts. Users have 24 hours/7 days a week access to their personal information.

It is very easy to find out if the Ocean County Health Department is hosting a satellite seminar offering by visiting the NJLMN Course Catalog page. There you can access course offerings by date, top or county.

You also can scroll down the Current Offerings and hit the “Site List” for any particular satellite seminar to find out what sites are offering it. If we are offering it, it will be sown on the Site List drop-down list.

If possible, we record every NJLMN satellite seminar we downlink. Users have 90 days from its initial airing to sign up for the class and watch the video for CEU credit. To do this on the NJLMN Course Catalog home page, hit the Offering Status box and select “Archive.” From that drop-down listing, register for any seminar that was sponsored in Ocean County and contact John Clayton at 732-341-9700, ext. 7277 to make arrangements to get a copy of the tape.

NOTE: Due to contractual obligations, we can only offer satellite seminars approved and vetted by NJLMN. If you desire a course not on the Current Offerings, the fastest way to get approval is to contact NJLMN at njdln@yahoo.com and request that the satellite seminar be vetted. If time allows, the course, once approved, will be added to Current Offerings.
