Ocean County Freeholder Director Gerry P. Little, Liaison to the Ocean County Board of
Health, said, “The Ocean County Health Department’s Southern Animal Facility and the Friends
of the Southern Ocean County Animal Facility are inviting residents to the fifth annual Fall
Furfest and Halloween Pet Parade at the Southern Ocean Animal Facility. Each year the parade
of animals gets bigger. It’s a great way for a family to spend a Saturday afternoon.”
“Dress up your pet and enter the het Halloween Costume Parade. There will be prizes for
different categories, such as best, funniest, cutest, scariest, and most original pet costumes. In
addition, there will be a bake sale, and for a small fee, a photographer will be taking pictures of
pets and their owners. People will also have the opportunity to visit the assortment of dogs and
cats at the shelter that are looking for a permanent home. You may go home with your new best
friend! Adoption fees will be waived on select pets,” said Brian Lippai, Manager of the Ocean
County Animal Facilities.
