“The Ocean County Health Department is offering their LIVE HEALTHY OCEAN COUNTY program, which offers pertinent health education and chronic disease screenings to interested groups in Ocean County,” said Ocean County Freeholder Director Gerry P. Little, Liaison to the Ocean County Health Department (OCHD). In addition, an upcoming program will be offered to the public from 10:30 to 12:00 P.M. on September 24th at the 11th Street Community Center, 239 11th Street, Barnegat. The Ocean Township Municipal Alliance is sponsoring the program.
Daniel Regenye, OCHD Public Health Coordinator, said that participants will be offered an educational program entitled, “Medication Management: How to Talk to Your Doctor” with a question and answer period.The program discusses how to take prescriptions correctly, how to dispose of prescriptions safely, and how to effectively speak with your health care provider. In addition, participants can sign up for blood pressure testing, stroke risk assessments and osteoporosis screenings. Nurses from the Ocean County Health Department will offer the screenings and OCHD Health Educators will conduct the educational component.
